The City of Lake Shore has an opening for the position of Deputy Clerk. The Deputy Clerk works under the general supervision of the Clerk Administrator. This position is assigned to take and maintain accurate meeting minutes along with administering licensing which includes liquor, tobacco, animal and golf carts. Assists with the election process and performs related financial and clerical tasks related to the city. There is considerable contact with the general public. This position is 32 hours a week with full time benefits including health insurance. Pay Range: $47,025.47-$68,968.64
Essential Functions:
Provides information and assistance to citizens either in person or by phone; answers
questions; research files; makes copies; and takes messages or refers callers to other city
staff
Maintains official minutes of city meetings
Arranges and publishes notices of meetings and ordinances as required by law
Maintains and processes payroll, payrolls deductions, payroll records and reports;
determines funds for allocation of payroll costs and enters into system
Codes accounts payable and receivable transactions and enter or assist in entering
account information; organizes expenditures and generates checks for payment
Preparation of utility bills and processing payments
Prepares semi-annual newsletter and keeps city webpage updated. Works with web
designer to keep the webpage and Facebook updated
Acts as secretary for the City Council and Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment
including attending meetings, taking minutes, and preparing necessary paperwork for
meetings
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Two (2) years in an office or administrative setting
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong written and verbal skills
Desired Qualifications
Associate’s degree in business, accounting, or related field
Municipal administration experience
Minnesota Municipal Clerk Certification
